Explore Sri Lanka with Colombo & Nuwara Eliya
Colombo, the commercial capital of Sri Lanka, shares a rich colonial heritage. The city offers a contrast with lush gardens, mansions, fine beaches, shopping malls trending expensive brands, busy roads and street markets. The vibrant city is a mixture of modern lifestyle and colonial buildings, with varying architectural styles influenced by the Portuguese, Dutch and British. Upon arrival at the airport, you would transferred to Hotel in a private vehicle.
DAY 1 – 12th August - COLOMBO
Visit to Panchamuga Anjaneyar Temple. This is the only temple in the world to have a chariot of Anjaneyar. A drive through the city takes you to the busy commercial areas as well as the tree-lined residential, Cinnamon Gardens. Visit the former British administrative centre and military garrison, Sea Street - the goldsmith's quarters in the heart of Pettah, the Bazaar area, where there is a Hindu temple with elaborate stone carvings, and the Dutch Church of Wolfendhal dating back to 1749 AD. The historic Dawatagaha Mosque and the former Eye Hospital are two buildings in Cinnamon Gardens worth looking at. Also visit the BMICH, see the replica of Avukana Buddha and the Independence Square. Thereafter commence a tour of Colombo, which includes time to do the shopping. Overnight stay at Colombo
DAY 2 – 13th August - NUWARA ELIYA VIA KANDY
request for an early departure so please enjoy your breakfast and
proceed to Kandy en route visit Pinnawala elephant orphanage and spice
gardens. Most important tourist attraction. Volunteers and caretakers
provide shelter and take care of orphaned, abandoned and injured
elephants within the park.
Then Visit Peradeniya Botanical
Garden. One of the best in the region. Itdates back to the ancient kings
of the country although the British changed the look of it. The British
are said to have used the gardens to grow trees that could not be grown
at Kew gardens. The large banyan tree, the orchid house, the suspension
bridge, and the bats are some of the main attractions.
Last Spot – The Temple of Tooth. The temple is open from dawn to dusk.It houses a tooth relic of the Lord Buddha, and is consequently considered one of the Sri Lanka’s most holy shrines. Although you may not view the actual tooth itself, the casket within which it is said displayed twice a day. Overnight stay in Nuwara Eliya.
DAY 3 – 14th August - NUWARA ELYA
Nuwara Eliya is a city in the tea country hills of central Sri Lanka. The naturally landscaped Hakgala Botanical Gardens displays roses and tree ferns, and shelters monkeys and blue magpies. Nearby Seetha Amman Temple, a colorful Hindu shrine, is decorated with religious figures. Densely forested Galway's Land National Park is a sanctuary for endemic and migratory bird species, including bulbuls and flycatchers.
City Tour & Local Sight Seeing which includes :
Seetha Amman Temple, SeethaEliya. – (Approximately 20 minute drive)
The stream that runs from the hill catered to the needs of Sita during her stay at AshokaVatika. She is said to have bathed in this stream. Now there is a temple erected for Lord Rama, Sita, Lakshman and Hanuman by the side of this stream. It is interesting to note that foot prints similar to Lord Hanuman’s are found by this river.
It is believed to be the place from where King Ravana’s son Meghanath propitiated Lord Shiva with penance and prayers and was in turn granted super natural powers by Lord Shiva.

DAY 4 – DEPARTURE FROM SRI LANKA
After breakfast transfer to airport and towards Maldives
DAY 4 – 15th August - ARRIVAL
Welcome to the tropical paradise of Maldives! After reaching there, get transferred to your resort in speed boat and check-in to your room. Spend the day relaxing and admiring the views of crystal clear waters ebbing sandy beaches.
DAY 5 – 16th August - MALDIVES
After a hearty breakfast today, we have many recommendations for you. You may choose to take a sun bath on the beach, go for a swim or do absolutely nothing! If adventure is what you like, opt for some water sports like snorkelling, wind surfing or have fun on a banana boat ride.
DAY 6 – 17th August - MALDIVES
Enjoy a hearty breakfast at the hotel and then check-out. Transfer to the airport. Fly back home with wonderful memories of an amazing trip!
